Sr. Linux System Administrator

This is a great opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Linux Administrator to join a dynamic IT team in our Marietta office. The candidate will be a vital member of the Systems team reporting to the Director of Technology. As a Linux Systems Administrator Senior you work closely with teams across departments to service and maintain over 300 critical systems and IT infrastructure in multiple data centers. The preferred candidate is expected to work under minimal supervision and lead the planning and execution of projects to their successful completion.

Responsibilities:

• Build and configure rack-mounted and virtual servers, and prepare them for deployment.
• Maintain and oversee improvements to colocation operations.
• Develop scripts and processes to automate systems-related functions.
• Maintain solutions to automate the configuration, provisioning, deployment and monitoring all our IT systems.
• Evaluates security updates and patches, and deploy updates to systems in a timely manner.
• Manage data center backup and disaster recovery processes
• Work with our Developers to ensure robustness and scalability of deployed applications.
• Quickly become an expert of IT infrastructure, and actively research technologies to keep our environment secure and ready for future needs.
• Improve and document operating procedures and train staff
• Assist our NOC in supporting IT needs of staff across multiple offices.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support when needed.

Qualification, Experience and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years as a Systems Administrator in an enterprise environment.
• 5+ years in supporting and maintaining production environments.
• Solid grasp of Linux systems such as Debian, Ubuntu, RHEL, etc.
• Good knowledge of machine virtualization using VMware, Proxmox and kvm.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and Puppet.
• Proficient shell scripting or programming skills.
• Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP protocols network diagnostics.
• Knowledge of infrastructure and application monitoring (Nagios/Zabbix/Prometheus).
• Team player with ability to provide technical guidance to IT teams.
• Proactive in nature and ability to lead projects from start to finish.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Familiar with Cisco networking hardware.
• Knowledge of PBX phone systems.
• Basic PostgreSQL and SQL administration.
• Experience in fundamental Windows services such as AD and DNS.
• Working experience in containerization platforms (Docker and Kubernetes).
• Basic understanding of software deployment pipelines.
