We are hiring highly motivated and experienced FEMA Public Assistance Technical Specialists to join our team of professionals working on FEMA disaster recovery projects. Applicants must have a minimum of five (5) years of FEMA Public Assistance experience, or your resume will not be considered. This is not a remote position; hires will be required to be in the field and ready to deploy.
The ideal candidates MUST have a minimum of five (5) years of FEMA PA TAC experience in any of following positions:
- Engineering (Geotechnical, Electrical, Enviromental, Civil, Mechanical, Structural) PE is a plus
- Architect
- Environmental Planner *(Must have knowledge and experience with NEPA)
- Program Delivery Manager
- Construction Inspector
- Construction Manager
- Cost Estimator (Construction or Major Projects, experience with FEMA Cost Estimating Tools)
- General Planner
- CPAs
- Hydrologist
- Geologist
- Wetlands Specialist
- Water Quality Specialist
- Soil Specialist
- Biologist
- Certified Floodplan Specialist
- Mitigation Specialist
- Certified FEMA Subject Matter Experts (Trainers)
- Administrative Support Specialist Senior and Mid-level- FEMA experience is a MUST
**Please include all FEMA disaster declaration (DR) numbers for each FEMA Public Assistance role on your resume. We will not accept DR#s on a separate sheet of paper. ** If you currently have a FEMA Badge, please but badge number on resume. If you are currently working with Prime/Subcontractor, please note on resume. If you have a degree in engineering or architecture, please state specialty. If you are approved, you will need to be selected to be added to the roster. If you are already on a Prime/Subcontractor roster, you will have to resign or not be deployed within six months.
Responsibilities may include:
- Conduct site assessments and inspections of damaged infrastructure
- Develop Damage Description and Dimensions (DDD) in Grants Manager and provide supporting documentation for work orders
- Develop scopes of work and cost estimates using knowledge of FEMA, State, or Local Cost codes and other cost data
- Develop and implement disaster recovery plans
- Provide technical assistance to local government officials and community leaders
- Oversee the construction of disaster recovery projects.
- Prepare reports and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in your field from an accredited university
- Must have at least five (5) years of FEMA Public Assistance experience in disaster response and recovery can include state/county disaster recovery
- Professional licenses and certifications (such as P.E. license, PMP, etc.) are required. Applicants without a certification or professional license will not be considered.
- Experience working in commercial and public facilities, including roads, bridges, water/wastewater treatment facilities, schools, and municipal buildings
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Additionally, FEMA training maybe required
Successful candidates will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include:
- DHS Clearance
- Criminal Background screening
- Drug Screen
This position is contingent upon a DHS Clearance and selection by the client. Candidates must be prepared to deploy to disaster sites for up to six (6) months at a time. Travel expenses will be reimbursed. There are no remote positions at this time. If you are unable to deploy, please do not apply.
