We are seeking a Patient Relations Representative to join our team!
This will be the first point of contact for patients. The position plays a key role in maintaining a high level of patient satisfaction by providing exceptional customer service over the phone and in person. The PRR is responsible for the front desk, patient registration, appointment scheduling, insurance verification, payment, and collection/cashiering. We are looking for a motivated team member who is ready to join a cohesive team where all are treated with compassion and respect.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide excellent customer service and serve as first point of contact to patients
- Facilitate communication between patients, providers, clinic staff, internal and external customers to support patient care
- Operate multi-line telephone system; routes calls and responds to general inquiries
- Register patients
- Collect and verify accurate and complete information from patient or family member
- Enter data into system and updates patients' demographic and insurance information as necessary
- Make patient appointments and monitors appointment schedules daily
- Identify medically urgent or emergent situations and responds appropriately
- Process clerical records and information for clinic patients including cashiering, forms and charts
- Provide information to patients regarding financial policies and appointment or scheduling requirements
- Ensure that clinic and/or waiting areas are clean and well maintained
- Opportunity to expand role to include referrals/authorizations and A/R management
Skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced medical office and demonstrate skills of reliability, multi-tasking and prioritizing.
- Answering large volume of telephone calls.
- Electronic Health Record Experience
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to pay close attention to details.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with patients, providers and staff.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, ability to function with autonomy and minimal supervision.
Experience:
- Customer Service: 1 year (Required)
- EHR Systems: 1 year (Preferred)
- Medical Office: 1 year (Required)
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
