What You'll Do
- Work with and learn from a top commercial lender.
- Source, develop and underwrite new financing requests for new and established customers.
- Submit applications to credit analysts for verification and recommendation.
- Negotiate credit terms and structure loan financing based on risk considerations.
- Approve loans within specified limits. Refer loan applications outside authorized limits to management for approval.
- Develop and maintain interest rate structure to comply with financial institution policies and procedures and remain competitive with current market rates.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with commercial loans.
- Promote the bank's products and services to existing clients.
- Identify potential new clients and develop strategies to acquire them.
- Promote the bank through active community involvement and strong customer relations.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time/exempt position, generally scheduled to work 40 hours per week.
Monday - Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Hours vary and may include evening hours to attend community and/or bank events.
What We're Looking For
Required
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Three (3) to five (5) years of commercial lending experience or combination of experience and education.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage a large commercial loan portfolio.
- Proven sales ability, effective interpersonal skills, keen problem-solving skills and a strong desire to succeed.
- Willingness to participate in community events on behalf of the bank regularly.
Proficient use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). - Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of customers, colleagues, senior leadership and directors of the board.
Preferred
- Commercial credit analyst experience.
- Financial experience in a commercial banking setting.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking ability.
