Overview:
Edgewater is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced SAS Architect Expert to join our team. As a SAS Developer specializing in software development and modernization, you will be at the forefront of transforming legacy systems into modern, efficient platforms. Your primary focus will be on evaluating new solutions to modernize legacy systems. You will play a critical role in modernizing these solutions for deployment on platforms like AWS, with an emphasis on scalability, and performance.
This role is ideal for a seasoned SAS Developer who is passionate about driving modernization initiatives, optimizing legacy systems for the cloud, and ensuring that solutions are aligned with modern software development practices.
Responsibilities:
Lead the architectural design and modernization of legacy systems, ensuring they align with modern software development practices and cloud-based infrastructures.
Develop and implement strategies to migrate and deploy modernized systems solutions to cloud platforms such as AWS, with a focus on cost efficiency, security, and performance.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, to ensure that new and existing solutions are effectively integrated into managed cloud environments.
Design and document repeatable, scalable deployment processes and architecture solutions, including system monitoring and troubleshooting practices, to support modern software development and operational excellence.
Serve as the lead technical architect for SAS, guiding the integration of new product changes and updates into SAS managed application services.
Provide expert guidance on SAS capabilities in private and public cloud environments, ensuring alignment with modernization goals and cloud adoption strategies.
Continuously evaluate and refine cloud hosting architectures to optimize for cost, reliability, security, and performance, ensuring that SAS solutions meet the demands of modern software development projects.
Qualifications:
Must be US Citizen and have ability to obtain HSPD-12 Security Clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of experience in technical architecture, with a focus on modernizing and deploying solutions in public cloud environments, preferably AWS.
Extensive experience with SAS microservices-based applications.
Proficiency in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines to support automated, scalable software deployments.
Strong experience with Kubernetes and containerization technologies to modernize and optimize application delivery.
Demonstrated ability to produce detailed solution architecture documentation, including architecture diagrams and non-functional requirements, to guide modernization efforts.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence modernization strategies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Agile development methodologies, with Scrum Product Owner experience being a plus.
Proven track record of leading modernization projects and delivering cloud-based solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Passionate about continuous learning and staying up to date with the latest trends in cloud computing and software development.
