Duties of Board Certified Behavior are as follows, but not limited to:
● Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive assessments to gather data on student’s behavior, skills, and environment. Use standardized assessment tools and direct observation to analyze behavior patterns, functional relationships, and developmental levels.
● Behavior Intervention Planning: Develop individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs) based on the assessment results. Design strategies and interventions to target specific behaviors, such as reducing problem behaviors or increasing desired skills. BIPs may include reinforcement techniques, prompting procedures, and teaching strategies.
● Data Collection and Analysis: Implement data collection procedures to measure behavior change and monitor progress over time. Analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and make data-driven decisions about treatment modifications.
● Training and Supervision: Provide training and supervision to behavior technicians, therapists, and other professionals involved in the student’s care. Ensure proper implementation of behavior plans, teach new skills, and address any concerns or challenges that arise during therapy sessions.
● Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other professionals, such as counselors, speech therapists, and educators, to ensure a coordinated approach to treatment. Communicate with parents or caregivers to discuss progress, address concerns, and provide guidance on implementing behavior strategies outside of therapy sessions.
● Professional Development: Stay current with the latest research, practices, and ethical standards in behavior analysis. Attend conferences, workshops, and training sessions to expand knowledge and maintain BCBA certification requirements.
● Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of assessments, treatment plans, progress reports, and other relevant documentation. Prepare written reports summarizing assessment findings, progress, and recommendations.
● Ethical and Professional Conduct: Adhere to the professional and ethical standards outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) and relevant regulatory bodies. Ensure client confidentiality and maintain professional boundaries
● Other duties as assigned
At least one year of experience practicing as a BCBA in an alternative setting is preferred but not required, preferably working with children with ASD
