Responsibilities:

• Provides skilled occupational therapy in accordance with the physician’s plan of care.
• Assists the physician in the evaluation and assessment of the client’s level of functioning by applying diagnostic and prognostic procedures and tests and assists in the development and revision of the plan of care
• Supervises occupational therapy assistants assigned to license in accordance with licensing board requirements, payer requirements, and agency policies
• Treats the client through the use of therapeutic activities designed to restore function and self-care activities for the purpose of improving function
• Instructs and advises client and family in the exercise program designed to increase the client’s strength and control
• Demonstrates and teaches alternate techniques to complete activities of daily living, proper transfers and positioning
• Evaluates, and regularly reevaluates the therapy needs of the client; develops, implements, and revises the client’s plan of care accordingly
• Teaches, supervises and counsels the client and family regarding home rehabilitation procedures and other care needs as appropriate to the client’s condition
• Develops, prepares and maintains individualized client care progress records with accuracy, timeliness and according to policies
• Submits accurate documentation within 24 hours of visit

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in occupational therapy 
• Ability to build rapport with patients
• Passion to help and motivate others
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Requirements:

• Occupational therapist licensed in the state
• Minimum of 6 months of occupational therapy experience
