Wafer Sample Preparation Process Technician II needed for our client Applied Materials located at Santa Clara, CA Applied Materials is considered the leader in

Fourth Shift: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6 am to 6:30 pm 3
Pay Rate:$29 base rates depending on experienceAdditional 11% differential per hour for weekend work.What You Need to Bring to the Table: - Years of Experience: 1-2 Years operating metrology equipment in a lab environment
- Solid interpersonal skills

- Education: Technical Diploma Skills Certifications
- 12 Hours Swing Shift (Friday to Sunday)
- Microsoft Office including Outlook and Excel
- Contractor to RFT path: Can be converted as early as 1 year of work, must be converted by 1.5 year.
- T2 – T3 career path: minimum 1.5 years, maintain a 6-month period with a 0-1%% redo rate (with sample prep being redo reason) & 0 IP incident and near miss à2 year working experience before they can be considered for T3 promotion.
- Must acquire all T3 skillset for promotion, thinning, and setup.
If T3 position becomes open, we can consider early promotion based on performance and skillset.
Training Period: 2 months
Week 1-4: IP & AGU and FIB courses, IP training, LIMS, TMW, Locker training. Sample return and job return to locker training, ZETA training.
Week 5-8: sample prep, epoxy, cleave, scribe, stub creation and stub maps, reading die maps (STD & HAR)
Week 9-12: evaluate performance, monitoring/graduation or not pass probation. -
What You Will Be Doing: - Prepare samples for experiments, including protective layer coating, wafer cleaning, mounting/unmounting samples, and preparing jobs for experimentation to evaluate the performance of the process system.
- Handle customer wafer pieces, and job return processed stubs and jobs. Maintain Customer intellectual property, return jobs to the lockers for different buildings
- Interface with requestors, understand their detailed requirements, and communicate results. Coordinate with engineering on job request status.
- Operate supportive metrology equipment in a lab environment.
- Operate optical microscope to inspect wafer structure from top-view, identify patterns of interest, understand FIB orientation requirement, and complete scribe mark are of interests for requested jobs under limited supervision after training.
- Operate other supportive metrology equipment for FIB-TEM lamella samples.
- Monitor data and track performance of metrology equipment and production activities per equipment requirements.
- Understand written instructions to perform assigned tasks.
- Create and update procedures and documentation.
- Perform basic operations of Microsoft Outlook and Excel software.
- Follow safety protocols and processes.
- Adhere to lab IP protocols and SOPs.
- Has developed proficiency in a range of analytical processes or procedures to carry out assigned tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Sample prepare stubs for large batch automation processing. Handle customer wafer pieces, and job return processed stubs and jobs.
- Maintain Customer intellectual property, return jobs to the lockers for Building 5 and B81.
