We are seeking skilled MIG Welders to join our team. As a MIG Welder, you will weld on mild carbon steel (7-14 gauge, mainly 12 gauge) in horizontal, vertical, and circular positions. You will use a grinder and other hand tools such as a screwdriver, wrench, and hammer. Occasionally, you will read blueprints and use a hand cart to pull necessary materials. You are required to finish projects within the allotted target time, which can range from 30 minutes to 5 hours depending on experience and product. You must be able to lift up to 75 lbs and operate a hydraulic welding table. Ninety percent of your day will consist of MIG welding, with the remaining 10% spent transporting materials and using hand tools.

Work SiteThis is a fully on-site position in University Park, Illinois.
Work EnvironmentYou will work in a heavy industrial environment with 40 welding booths equipped with hydraulic tables, fabrication machinery (presses, saws, manual machinery), conveyors, and forklifts. The environment is not well lit and can be dirty. You will work independently in your own welding booth but will interact with your team Lead/Supervisor throughout the day. PPE including steel toe boots, eye protection, hoods, gloves, and sleeves will be provided. This is a non-union position. Sixty-five percent of employees are Spanish-speaking.
