We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Developer/SRE based in Dallas, Texas. This role lies within the technology industry and involves working on cloud service platforms. As a Developer/SRE, the focus of your work will be on managing and enhancing system interactions, monitoring, and maintaining problem management policies, and collaborating with various teams.
Responsibilities:
• Utilize your knowledge and experience to improve monitoring and alarming processes and technologies.
• Operate effectively within cloud service platforms and establish new cloud environments when required.
• Identify and manage system interactions and dependencies within the Voice Services product.
• Provide on-call support based on rotation and severity of issues.
• Route defects to the appropriate internal/external squads for defect remediation.
• Manage problem management policies and ensure their successful implementation.
• Collaborate with monitoring teams to develop new alarms and alerts based on undetected incidents, while capturing all relevant data that triggered the alarm.
• Define and implement monitoring types and thresholds.
• Use your general networking knowledge and understanding of SSL Certs.
• Document and maintain a playbook for obtaining Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
• Participate in weekly calls to understand changes being implemented to the systems.
• Apply your experience of forecasting and capacity planning of system and network resources.
• Optimize cost-efficient provisioning of resources.
• Use your knowledge and experience in Kubernetes cluster, Linux environments, databases such as Oracle and SQL, and cloud infrastructures like AWS, Google, IBM.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Proficiency in SQL, Oracle, and other database technologies
• Advanced knowledge of cloud technologies such as AWS and IBM
• Experience with Linux technologies is necessary
• Familiarity with networking and related technologies
• Expertise in operations and policy management
• Proficiency in monitoring tools and defect management
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, specifically in the computer sciences field
• Proficient in using laptop hardware and other related technologies
• Experience in MIS and related technologies
• Familiarity with cluster analysis and dependencies management
• Ability to provide training and guidance to team members
• Capability to perform accurate forecasting and component selection
• Experience in a call center environment would be beneficial
• Demonstrable experience in specification writing and capture techniques
• Bachelor's degree in computer sciences or a related field.
